Halloween 2011

You can tell that your kids are growing up when their Halloween costumes are based upon their favorite characters from books instead of the traditional Disney princesses. This year Rebecca wanted to be Valkery from the Skullduggery series and Sara wanted to be someone at a Masquerade ball. Jake loves Legos and so he wanted to be a Ninjago character while Joey went back and forth between being Jack Sparrow and the skeleton version of Jack Sparrow.

The funnest part about Halloween is that the festivities around here are a weekend long series of events. They began on Friday with a Fall Carnival at the kid's school, followed by the Trunk or Treat on Saturday and Halloween parades, parties, and Trick or Treating on Monday. (Aren't the Kindergartners cute?)

I think that in the end the kids had more candy then they knew what to do with. I have already started throwing some of it out. I plan to give the kids until Friday before tossing out the rest. Happy Halloween.
