Last Sunday I put Rebecca and Sara in charge of bathing Carlee. I could hear giggles from the computer in the loft where I was preparing my lesson. They called for me to come into the bathroom and I don't know what I expected to find, but it wasn't a bubble baby afro.

Easter 2013
I love Easter.
I asked Jake what Easter was all about. He said, "It's about Christ and the Resurrection."
I then asked him if he felt like some of the other Easter traditions took away from what Easter was really about. He said, "No, because on Easter we go to church and celebrate as a family and we talk about Jesus."
It made me feel good that in addition to all of the fun Easter Activities, the kids still understood why it was we celebrated.
Here the kids are painting eggs the night before Easter.
Our Bishop decided to make Fast Sunday, Easter Sunday. My kids weren't to excited about that, so they fasted Saturday afternoon and evening so that they could have chocolate for breakfast on Easter morning. I think fasting on Saturday ended up being even more of a challenge, but I am really impressed that they were all willing to do it.
Carlee's Treats!
I love these cute kiddos.
Easter Egg Hunts and Dancing at the Park
Carlee loves hunting for Easter Eggs. She may not be able to eat a lot of what she finds, but it's still fun looking. Our Primary did an Easter Egg hunt at 8am Saturday morning. Rebecca came to help with Carlee. Jake and Sara were there, but they took off as soon as they got to the park. Joey stayed with Becca and Carlee.
I love that I now have three ballroom dancing kids because it makes performances even more fun to watch. The city puts on an Easter Egg hunt at Anamax park each year. The kids have had the chance to perform the last few years. Jake did a cha cha number called "Banging on Pots and Pans," then everyone came out and demonstrated Jive, and Rebecca and Sara did a second cha cha to, "You don't know you're beautiful."

Carlee watched with her grandma and grandpa.
After the performances the kids got to hunt for more candy. Carlee and her cousin Ty high 5'd each other. They each got some serious loot.
Grandma and Grandpa Prior at Old Tucson
The Holmstroms left town and Grandma and Grandpa Prior came to visit. We decided to take them to Old Tucson so that they could get a feel for the old west (or at least the old western movie scene, since old Tucson is built on a movie studio lot).
After a long day in the sun, Carlee snuggled up with her grandpa on the recliner. She's kinda funny about going to people so we thought we would take a quick picture before she changed her mind about being with grandpa.
Here Jake and Joey are getting roped.
Rebecca is playing dead.
And Sara is panning for gold. . . or at least fake gold.

Reuniting with the Holmstrom Family
During Spring Break our friends the Holmstroms came out from CA to visit. In High School Rebecca's family moved into our neighborhood and our families became good friends. Then Rebecca ended up marrying one of Chad's friends, Steve Holmstrom. Crazy how things work out.
When the Holmstroms arrived Karen, Cindy and their families came over and we all had dinner together.
The next day we all went to Colossal Caves to explore. I had never been into a cave before, so I thought it was really cool. The kids enjoyed seeing all the neat formations and crystals. After the cave tour was over we went down to another area of the park and had lunch.
Jake loved the fact that the Holmstroms had a son his age. They had a lot of fun hanging out together and playing games.

What a fun day!
