Carlee Singing

Carlee likes to sing, especially Frozen songs.  Cindy captured her singing in the back of her car and I thought I would share it with you.  She's going to be a little performer someday.

I have been really bad at journaling my life lately because we are almost ready to perform our musical, Cinderella and it has consumed me; but I thought I would post a few things without trying to play catch up.  Carlee is our little princess.  She dresses up EVERYDAY!!! We bounce between Cinderella, Ana, Princess Sophia, and a Barbie Princess dress.  When Carlee was wearing regular clothes, my daughter Sara said, "Oh. . . she looks so cute.  I forgot what Carlee looked like without a princess dress on."  Needless to say, she is our cute little princess and we love her.

For Spring Break we took a whirlwind trip to CA.  The Monday we left I had a 4 hour Cinderella rehearsal, followed by the girl's last minute jazz band rehearsal and then off to Cali we went.

We arrived to my parent's house around 11pm and were up bright and early to go to Disneyland the next day.  We spent Tuesday at CA Adventure and Wednesday at Disneyland.  By Wednesday afternoon grandma had worn Carlee out and she melted down while we were in line at Pirates of the Carribean.  I took her back to Grandma and Grandpa's house where she slept for 3 hours, woke up for 2 hours, and then went back to bed for the night.  She was exhausted.  Wednesday was Grandma's birthday and so after enjoying the day at Disneyland with the four older grandkids, Rich, Rachel, and baby Ben, she came home and we had cake and ice cream.  

The girl's met up with their Jazz band on Wednesday evening (the band had traveled to CA that day) and went with them to Knotts on Thursday.  Our friends, the Smiths, came to CA for the jazz festival and so Jake joined them at Knotts, while Carlee, Joey, and I spent the day recovering.  

On Friday we all went to the beach.  It's nice having parents with boogie boards and sand toys.  We met the Jazz band kids at the beach and were a big hit.  It was a beautiful, warm, relaxing day.  (The first slow day we'd had all week)  

 The girls taught their friends how to boogie board and body surf.  The waves in Newport, or at least at Balboa, aren't very big, so it was perfect for a bunch of AZ kids who aren't used to the ocean.

 On Saturday the girls competed at the Fullerton Jazz Festival.  They sounded awesome.  The festival  didn't have a middle school competitive category, so they had to compete against all of the area high schools.  They took 4th place in their division.  Grandma and Grandpa had the chance to hear them play and were really impressed.  The judges were also extremely complementary.  I think the kids left feeling really good about their performances.

The jazz band went back to AZ on Sunday, but the girls came with me back to my parent's house Saturday night.  We went to church with grandma and grandpa on Sunday and then had dinner Sunday night with our good friends the Gardners.  The Smith family, (who also came up for the jazz festival) stayed at my parent's house Sunday night with us.  It was a nice break before having to turn around Monday morning and head back to AZ.

All my kids, the Smith's kids, and the Gardner kids/grandkids played Mofia after dinner.  Hailey and Rebecca are only a few months apart.  Every time we visit CA the girls try to plan some way to get together.  They have been friends since they were babies.

On picture  #2 I got the smolder. . . . Oooooh baby!  What a cutie.
