House Update

After I posted all of our chaos yesterday we had a bit more.

You see over the last 3 weeks we have been doing everything we can to make the lender happy about giving us a loan. We sold Chad's new car that he bought last year, returned documents, resent 3 times the same documents. . . etc. . . . Stuff that is usually standard. We also purchased all new appliances for the house because we had heard that having the appliances in the house might be required.

We asked the appraiser if we would need to have the appliances installed before he ever inspected the house and his answer was no. Yesterday we found out that one of the terms and conditions for closing (from the lender) was that the appraiser go back and verify that we had working appliances (stove, dishwasher, etc. . .) and that there were no leaky sinks or toilets.

Explain to me how these things ought to effect the BUYER who has no rights to a FORECLOSED house. (Also, would have been nice to have known a week ago when we were moving everything into storage and not 4 days later when we are in CA)

Well, we didn't know what else to do so Chad got into the car last night and drove to AZ. He has to unload our storage unit because of course the stove/range is in the middle of the unit. . . reload it, then install it.

The good news is that the installation manager at LOWES (let me put a plug in for them because they have been awesome) felt so bad for us that he is coming down on his lunch break to install the dishwasher. We have rescheduled this installation 4 times and they have been so helpful. If you ever need anything, Lowes has really impressed me. (They even had blinds sent in and fixed for my parents at no cost when they had originally purchased them at Home Depot and the Home Depot wouldn't help them)

The appraiser is scheduled to come out again on Friday and Chad's dad is driving down from Utah to help him. . . so even though we can't move in yet at least some of my to do list is getting done. Chad may even get a garage door opener and a few ceiling fans installed. Yaaaaaa!

We get new delays every other day so if something else comes up I will let you know, but for now I am hoping that there is some light at the end of this tunnel. The goal is to close next week and have a house a few days later. Here's to hoping.

The Crazy Life that I lead

I know, I know, where have I been the last month. . . . Well, here is the breakdown.

Since I last blogged:

Jake finished soccer and graduated from Pre-K
Sara had her 8th birthday and was baptized.
We had our end of the year dance recital.
Both sets of Grandparents came to visit us.
I was released as Primary President and spent the last 2 Sundays in our ward at Relief Society. (Which felt very strange after 3 years of Primary)
We packed our whole house,
Cleaned the yard and carpets to our house.
Loaded up a moving truck.
Drove to Arizona
Unloaded the moving truck into storage
Came to CA to live with Grandma and Grandpa, while we are homeless.
We've gone back and forth about 500 times with our realtor and lender (Chad's dad, who unfortunatly has to deal with our stress and the VA loan process)
And. . . . we are still waiting and praying that we will finally be able to close before the 19th (Or we will be charged $100 a day for each day that we don't close)

My stress level has reached an all time high. The part that I struggle with the most is that by the time we are finally able to move in, Chad will be back at work, and all the things that I needed him to do and help me with may not ever happen. So tell me, Why did I want to buy a house. I keep trying to tell myself that it will be worth it, but right now, I just want a home.

The good news is that CA is beautiful and we've had a chance to go to the beach and Chad and I have been able to go running or walking together ever day. Cool huh. I've decided that there must be a really great reason why we are moving to AZ because I don't think that we have ever been met with this much opposition before.

As soon as I get a computer and my connector cables again, I will post pictures, but until then that is what we've been up to.
