This year we decided to put Rebecca and Sara on swim team. We were hoping that by doing this they would become stronger swimmers and stay active during the summer. The girls were a little apprehensive about the idea at first, having never been on a swim team before, but now they love it.
On the first day of practice the girls discovered that they knew a lot of the kids on the team. They have grown to love swimming and even though they initially agreed to do only ONE swim meet, they are now scheduled for a second one the end of the month.
At their first swim meet, having only been on the swim team for 3 weeks, the girls swam their hearts out and did really well. Unfortunately they are swimming against girls who have been doing this for years so they came in dead last in every event except ONE, "The Breast Stroke." Sara took first in this event for her age group and Rebecca took second for hers. I am so excited for them. They have lots of room to grow as swimmers, but they have both come a long way this summer. Great job girls, we are proud of you.
