Now I get to have a few seconds to brag about my daughter Rebecca. I made a deal with her at the beginning of the year. If she was able to get straight A's all year we would pay for her to go on a class trip to Washington DC. She was taking a High School level math course and so with the extra weight on her grade she ended up with a 4.3 GPA and tied with two other girls to be the class Valedictorians.
Not only is she a great kid, but in order for her to take the upper level Math class, she had to do it as an elective and take two math classes all year. She really worked hard this year and when she got up to give her speech, she actually made a few people cry. "Good Job Becca! You're Awesome."
The school did a really great job making graduation awesome for the kids. The only down side was that they over did the speakers a little and it took 2 hours for the ceremony. We had dinner before the ceremony, so after sitting for 4 hours, we were all ready to head home. (Except for Rebecca who stayed for the after graduation dance.)
Congratulations kiddo! We are all proud of you.
