Birthday Gifts

I love having kids. I think that one of the greatest things about being a parent is seeing your child's brain in action. Yesterday was my 34th birthday. It is interesting how little birthdays come to mean as you grow older, but to my children, MY BIRTHDAY was the highlight of their day.

Jake had been praying to have good dreams about my birthday for the last several days, and I could tell he put a lot of time into my gifts. From Jake I received 2 pictures, his kindergarten cookbook, 20 pennies and 3 pieces of gold (AKA Rocks. Jake is my money guy). Rebecca and Sara both gave me the ever timeless coupon book (spelled copon book), wherein Rebecca allowed me a 1hour nap. (Isn't that so nice of her). Joe (He doesn't want to be called Joey anymore) was just so surprised that it was my birthday that he gave me hugs anytime someone mentioned a "Happy Birthday."

You have to admit, getting old isn't bad, when you have so many wonderful blessings.

Happy Birthday to you!!! Getting older has just been better for me, too. Wouldn't trade my 30s for my 20s ever. Except the 10 pounds. I'll trade those. Glad you had a good day with some great kids.
